Hi, I’m El, a licensed midwife and fertility specialist with over 15 years of experience providing reproductive healthcare, including at-home intrauterine insemination (IUI) in the San Francisco Bay Area. My work focuses on supporting people who are building families outside of traditional fertility models, including queer families, single parents, and those seeking a more personalized alternative to clinic-based care. My approach combines clinical expertise with relationship-based, individualized support throughout the fertility process..

I graduated from the National Midwifery Institute and completed my clinical training at Pacifica Family Maternity Center in Berkeley. I am a Licensed Midwife in California (LM 566) and Certified Professional Midwife, and have worked in birth centers, home birth, and hospital settings, supporting families across the full spectrum of fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum care.

In addition to my midwifery background, I have worked in other capacities to support reproductive healthcare. I have trained medical students, residents, and nurses in trauma-informed gynecological care at UCSF, Stanford, NYU, Rutgers, and other academic medical institutions. Prior to my midwifery education, I worked as a counselor in abortion care and have trained and mentored abortion doulas around the country. In all of my roles, I bring a deep commitment to reproductive autonomy, informed consent, and care that is both clinically grounded and emotionally attuned.

My favorite part of being a midwife is getting to witness the love, joy, and transformation that unfold as my clients grow their families. For me, the medicine and magic of midwifery is held in the relationship. I believe deeply in the way midwifery care weaves together evidence-based practice with intuitive wisdom — science and skill, trust and presence.

When I’m not midwifing, I enjoy spending time by rivers and oceans, cooking elaborate meals with my loved ones, and making art.
